UK Visa for Vietnamese Passport Holders in Dubai — Complete Guide 2026

The UK runs two systems for short visits. Visa-exempt nationalities — Emirati and other GCC nationals, and passport holders from the US, EU, Canada and Australia — travel on a GBP 20 Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA), applied for online with no biometrics. Visa-required nationalities must obtain a full Standard Visitor Visa with biometrics. The Vietnamese passport is a visa-required nationality, so Vietnamese nationals need the Standard Visitor Visa. A UAE residence visa or Emirates ID does not move you into the ETA system — it only determines that you apply from Dubai rather than from Vietnam.

UK Visas and Immigration assesses documents in English, so any Vietnamese-language document — a household registration book, civil certificate, or Vietnamese bank letter — must be accompanied by a certified English translation. Most UAE bank statements and UAE employer letters are already in English and do not.
