The UK runs two separate systems for short visits. Visa-exempt nationalities — Emirati and other GCC nationals, and passport holders from the US, EU, Canada and Australia — travel on a GBP 20 Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA), applied for online with no biometrics. Visa-required nationalities must obtain a full Standard Visitor Visa with biometrics. The Lebanese passport is a visa-required nationality, so Lebanese nationals need the Standard Visitor Visa. A UAE residence visa, golden visa, or Emirates ID does not move you into the ETA system — it only determines that you apply from Dubai rather than from Lebanon.

Financial evidence and ties to the UAE are the two decisive elements of a Lebanese applicant’s UK visa case. A practical reality worth addressing directly: since the Lebanese banking difficulties that began in 2019, many Lebanese nationals in the UAE hold their working financial life almost entirely in the UAE, and Lebanese bank accounts may hold restricted or inaccessible balances. This is well understood, and it is not a problem for your application — the correct approach is to build your case on your UAE salary account and UAE assets, not on funds held in Lebanon.
