The new service operates three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, between Terminal 3 at Dubai International (DXB) and Benghazi Benina International Airport (BEN). Flight FZ 1147 departs Dubai at 06:50 and arrives in Benghazi at 10:45 local time; the return, FZ 1148, leaves Benghazi at 11:45 and lands back in Dubai at 19:15.

flydubai is the first UAE carrier to operate direct flights between Dubai and Benghazi. The route is offered through the airline’s codeshare partnership with Emirates, which flydubai says gives passengers single-ticket itineraries, baggage checked through to the final destination, and access to the two carriers’ combined network. Benghazi is the airline’s latest addition in East and North Africa, taking its network in the region to 13 destinations; flydubai has said it expects its overall network to pass 100 destinations by the summer.

What it means for travellers

For travellers based in the UAE, the route adds a nonstop option to eastern Libya that previously required a connection. flydubai is the first UAE carrier to fly the route directly. Details and booking are available through flydubai’s official channels.

UAE residents travelling on the new route can review the visa requirements for Libya before booking.
