The Guwahati–Dubai service starts on 4 August 2026 (Tuesdays) and Guwahati–Abu Dhabi on 7 August 2026 (Fridays).

From 4 August 2026, Air India Express will fly between Guwahati and Dubai every Tuesday, departing Guwahati at 12:25 and arriving in Dubai at 16:10 local time, with the return leaving Dubai at 17:10 and reaching Guwahati at 00:25 the next day. The Guwahati–Abu Dhabi service follows from 7 August 2026, operating every Friday, departing Guwahati at 11:30 and arriving in Abu Dhabi at 15:15, with the return leaving Abu Dhabi at 16:15 and landing in Guwahati at 23:30. Both are the airline’s first international services from Guwahati, one of its largest stations with around 120 weekly flights.

Air India Express says it is the first airline to connect Northeast India directly with the Gulf. With the two routes, Guwahati gains direct international links to four countries — the UAE, Thailand, Singapore and Bhutan. The carrier operates more than 290 weekly flights across four stations in the region: Guwahati, Imphal, Dibrugarh and Dimapur.

What it means for travellers

For travellers in the UAE with ties to Northeast India, the routes remove the need to connect through hubs such as Delhi or Kolkata, and they open onward connections through Dubai and Abu Dhabi to the wider network. Both services start as once-weekly operations. Details and booking are available through Air India Express’ official channels.
