Vietnam Visa for Indian & Pakistani Passport Holders in Dubai 2026

Indian passport holders residing in Dubai are not eligible for visa-free entry to Vietnam. A visa must be obtained before travel. The Vietnam e-visa is the recommended option due to its simplicity, low cost, and fast processing time.

Indian nationals do not need any additional documentation beyond the standard e-visa requirements — a valid passport (6+ months validity), a passport-style photo, and a passport data page scan. Your UAE residence visa is not required for the e-visa but is good to carry when travelling.

Pakistani passport holders in Dubai also require a visa to enter Vietnam. Like Indian nationals, the e-visa is the most convenient and cost-effective option. The process and requirements are identical regardless of nationality.

Some Pakistani passport holders have historically faced longer processing times for visas to certain countries, but Vietnam treats all e-visa applications equally. OraVisa has not observed any nationality-based delays for Vietnam e-visas from either Indian or Pakistani applicants.

The application process is identical for both Indian and Pakistani passport holders. Follow these steps carefully to ensure a smooth application.

1. 1Visit evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn — this is the only official Vietnamese government e-visa portal.
2. 2Click "E-visa Issuance" then "Outside Vietnam foreigners" then "Apply new".
3. 3Upload your passport photo (4x6 cm, white background, JPEG, under 1 MB). Indian and Pakistani passport photos often have blue backgrounds — you must use a white background for the Vietnam e-visa.
4. 4Upload a scan of your passport data page. Ensure the Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) at the bottom is clearly visible.
5. 5Enter your full name exactly as it appears on your passport. For Indian passports, include your surname in the "Surname" field and given name(s) in the "Given name" field. For Pakistani passports, follow the same pattern.
6. 6Select your nationality (India or Pakistan), enter your passport number, and confirm the expiry date.
7. 7Choose your intended entry and exit points in Vietnam. Dubai residents typically enter at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City) or Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi).
8. 8Pay USD 25 (single entry) or USD 50 (multiple entry) by credit or debit card.

Beyond the visa process, here are practical tips specific to Indian and Pakistani travellers from Dubai visiting Vietnam.

• Vietnam has a growing halal food scene, particularly in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. Apps like Halal Trip and Zabihah help locate halal restaurants.
• The Vietnamese dong (VND) is the local currency. Exchange rates are better in Vietnam than in Dubai — bring USD cash and exchange on arrival for the best rates.
• Vietnamese SIM cards are inexpensive (approximately AED 10-15 for 30 days with data) and available at the airport on arrival.
• Travel insurance is strongly recommended — medical care in Vietnam can be expensive for foreigners without coverage.
• The time difference between Dubai and Vietnam is 3 hours (Vietnam is UTC+7, Dubai is UTC+4).
• Carry copies of your passport, e-visa, and UAE residence visa at all times while in Vietnam.
