Egypt e-Visa for UAE Residents: Online Application Guide

The Egypt e-Visa (electronic visa) is an official entry permit issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs that allows eligible nationals to enter Egypt for tourism, business, or transit purposes. Unlike a traditional embassy visa, the e-Visa is applied for entirely online — there is no appointment, no document courier, and no passport submission required.

The e-Visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. During this 90-day window, you can use the visa to enter Egypt for a stay of up to 30 days per entry. If you choose the multiple-entry option, you can enter and exit multiple times within the 90-day validity period, with each stay being up to 30 days.

Egypt e-Visa Eligibility from Dubai

The Egypt e-Visa is available to nationals of around 70 countries. Common nationalities living in Dubai and their e-Visa eligibility are listed below. If your nationality is not shown, check the official portal or contact OraVisa for a free eligibility check.

The Egypt e-Visa has minimal document requirements compared to embassy visas. You do not need to submit bank statements, employment letters, or hotel bookings during the application. Here is what you need.

1. 1Valid passport — must have at least 6 months validity from your intended date of entry into Egypt. Your passport must be in good condition. Scan the bio-data page (the page with your photo and personal details) in full colour at a high resolution. All text must be clearly legible.
2. 2Digital passport photograph — recent (within the last 6 months), white or plain light background, full face visible, neutral expression, no glasses. Minimum 400 x 514 pixels resolution. JPEG format, maximum 5 MB file size.
3. 3Valid email address — your approved e-Visa will be sent here. Double-check for typos before submitting — you cannot change it after submission.
4. 4Credit or debit card — Visa or Mastercard accepted. American Express is not accepted on all portals. The card must be in your name and have international payment capability enabled.

The Egypt e-Visa application process takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes once you have all your documents ready. Follow these steps carefully to avoid common errors.

1. 1Go to the official Egypt e-Visa website at visa2egypt.gov.eg. This is the only legitimate government portal for Egypt e-Visa applications. Do not use any other website — unofficial sites charge inflated fees.
2. 2Click "Register" to create a new account. You will need to provide a valid email address and create a password. Verify your email address by clicking the link sent to your inbox.
3. 3Log in to your account and click "Apply for Visa". Select "Egypt e-Visa" as the application type.

The Egyptian e-Visa portal processes applications on business days only. UAE and Egyptian public holidays are not counted as business days and will extend your processing time. • Using unofficial e-Visa websites — always apply at visa2egypt.gov.eg, never at third-party sites that charge 2 to 4 times the real fee
• Entering passport details incorrectly — the passport number, name, or date of birth must exactly match your physical passport
• Applying with a passport that has less than 6 months validity — check your passport expiry date before applying
• Uploading a blurry or cropped passport scan — the full bio-data page including the MRZ lines must be clearly visible
• Providing an incorrect email address — you will not receive your approved e-Visa if the email address is wrong
• Applying too early — the e-Visa is valid for only 90 days from the issue date; if you apply 4 months before travel, it may expire before your trip
• Paying with a card that has international transactions blocked — enable international payments on your UAE bank card before applying
• Not printing the e-Visa — some airlines require a printed copy at check-in; save a digital copy as backup

Once your Egypt e-Visa is approved, follow these steps to ensure a smooth trip.
